Hornet 2.0 Overview
The Honda Hornet 2.0 is Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India’s entry into the 180-200 cc motorcycle segment. The Honda Hornet 2.0 is powered by a new 184.4 cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine which makes 17.03 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 16.1 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The Hornet 2.0 gets a 5-speed gearbox, and the engine gets Honda’s PGM-FI fuel-injection system with what Honda Eco Technology (HET). The fuel-injection system employs as many as eight on-board sensors to constantly inject optimum fuel and air mixture for better efficiency. The engine also gets a piston cooling jet which acts as a heat absorbent and is said to improve engine thermal efficiency, as well as provide better fuel efficiency. The engine also gets a roller rocker arm which helps in reducing friction losses and improves refinement.
On the design front, the Honda Hornet 2.0 gets an aggressive and sporty design with robust and butch looks, accentuated by a muscular 12-litre fuel tank and wide tyres, wearing a 110 mm front tyre and 140 mm wide rear tyre. Braking is handled by petal discs on both wheels, with a 276 mm disc on the front wheel with single-channel ABS, and a 220 mm rear disc. On the features list, the Hornet 2.0 gets a full-digital LCD instrument console, full LED lighting, including a hazard light switch. The Hornet 2.0 has a kerb weight of 142 kg and is available in a choice of four colours – Pearl Igneous Black, Matte Axis Grey Metallic, Matte Marvel Blue Metallic and Matte Sangria Red Metallic. The Honda Hornet 2.0 is available with a 6-year warranty, with 3 years standard warranty and three more years of optional extended warranty.
